Hosptitality, Prayer, Formation and Service, to lead souls to Everlasting Life with our Savior, Jesus Christ
"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end." (Revelations 22:16)
These words from the very last chapter of the Bible are a final reminder for us to put God first in our lives. Putting God first doesn't mean giving until it hurts. It means giving until our giving fills us with joy and contentment. This usually means giving more generously, not less!!
Part of our responsibility as parishioners is the routine support of our parish. Please do your part by contributing in a meaningful way to the parish and know that your monies are appreciated! If everyone contributed just 5% of their income, we could do such marvelous things in our church and local community!! That new building, grotto and new Church would be already funded. Plan for your contribution, even if you cannot tithe the full 10% to the parish or Church universal.
The parish utilizes numbered envelopes for your weekly contribution for the church. Please use these so that your donation can be tracked and then a year-end statement can be provided for your income tax preparation.
If you do not have envelopes and would like to obtain some, please be sure you are first registered in the parish and then contact Tracy dela Garza, Stephanie Adams, or Father Paul Key at the church office.
This is a fund set aside to grow and increase in value over time to allow for future needs of the Parish or Diocese. Uses can vary, but primarily are used to offset costs for new seminarians or older priest retirement needs.
Please speak to Father Paul or contact Mr. Mark Henry, attorney/CPA who works for the Diocese, at (903) 617-4183.
Nov. 14-15 is the start of our 2021 Stewardship Renewal, Fr. Key will address in his sermons the full program but as Catholics, we should also be Christian Stewards, giving of our Time, Talent and Treasure. Gifts can be made to St. Boniface for the ongoing Building and Growth of the physical structures or toward spiritual enrichment of our community. You can designate which areas you would like for your funds to be used for, such as:
Perhaps what we most easily forget in our personal financial planning and retirement is the needs of the Church. Planned Giving is the inclusion of donations to the Church or other entity in our wills for future growth and outreach. Funds can be designated just as the Capital Gifts or as an endowment. Perhaps we should consider a 10% Tithe as our last act of selflessness? Are our children already taken care of? Ask those questions as you plan.
Many attorneys and estate planners suggest the formation of a Trust. This is an individucal decision and may depend on the amount of your estate. Mr. Mark Henry, Diocesan attorney and CPA, can help you make many of these decisions and offer his advice. Contact Father Paul for more information or you may call him directly at (903) 617-4183.
Also to consider, as we create those documents, is to include a Catholic Advance Directive and a Power of Attorney designation to one who has the right values and priorities. This work will mean fewer difficult decisions for our loved ones to make as we age and pass away.
